AGT Magician Scott Alexander Dies at 52

TMZ reported the news of Alexander’s death, pointing to an Instagram post from his wife Jenny, in which she wrote, “I lost my husband yesterday. My kids lost their father. He suffered a stroke while working on a cruise ship in St Kitts and did not make it home to us.”

The post, which features photos of Alexander with his family, continues, “We are shattered. Please hold us in your prayers.”

Alexander competed on Season 6 of America’s Got Talent with his magic act back in 2011. According to TMZ, his wife Jenny appeared with him on the show as an assistant. The magician impressed the judges in his audition with a levitation trick and moved on to the next round.

Alexander Reached the Quarterfinals of Season 6

Alexander made it through the Season 6 Vegas round and into the Quarterfinals, where he performed an impressive illusion in which he made a gospel choir disappear on stage and reappear on the theater’s balcony.

Unfortunately, Alexander did not earn enough votes to move on to the next round of the competition. However, the magician didn’t stop performing. He went on to appear on Season 2 of Penn & Teller: Fool Us with Season 7 AGT contestant The Magic of Puck.

AGT Season 15 daredevil Jonathan Goodwin reacted to Alexander’s death on Twitter Monday, writing, “A brilliant and creative magician left us today. Scott Alexander was fab, and he gifted us with great performances and awesome material which will take his name forward. A real loss. Scott was one of the really good ones.”
