America’s Got Talent judge Sofia Vergara and her husband Joe Manganiello announced their separation earlier this week. Now TMZ is reporting that Manganiello has filed for divorce from Vergara after seven years of marriage.

Joe Manganiello Files for Divorce from Sofia Vergara

On Wednesday, TMZ broke the news that Manganiello had reportedly filed for divorce from Vergara, with his lawyer Lauren Wasser filing legal documents citing irreconcilable differences. According to the documents, the couple has a prenuptial agreement.

Through the prenup, Vergara and Manganiello will each keep the assets they earned during their marriage. Sources told TMZ that Vergara is apparently not planning to contest the prenup. They will also each cover their own lawyers’ fees.

The date of the couple’s separation is reportedly listed as July 2, 2023. TMZ has also shared that one alleged reason for the couple’s divorce is their disagreement over having children, as Manganiello reportedly wants them but Vergara does not.

Vergara, who turned 51 earlier this month, already has a grown son named Manolo, who is 31. Manganiello, who is 46, does not have children.

The Couple Announced Their Split This Week

News broke earlier this week of Vergara and Manganiello’s separation. The couple tied the knot in November of 2015 after meeting the previous year. They released a joint statement on Monday announcing their split.

“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the couple told Page Six. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

Rumors have been swirling ever since the announcement about the possible reasons for the couple’s decision to divorce. One report claimed it was due to the actors’ “different attitudes,” as the “true versions of themselves started showing.”
